Darley Tactical Pumpers
In the high-stakes world of emergency response, seconds matter—and so does performance. Darley’s Tactical Pumpers™ have been purpose-built to redefine the operational capabilities of first responders by blending the power of a full-sized fire apparatus with the unmatched maneuverability of a pickup truck. The result is a compact, highly responsive vehicle that excels in environments where space is limited and agility is critical—urban cores, wildland interfaces, industrial sites, and beyond.
Designed with the first responder in mind, every Tactical Pumper™ is a product of Darley’s commitment to innovation, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. These vehicles are not scaled-down versions of traditional fire trucks—they are intelligently engineered solutions that deliver the same water flow, pump performance, and firefighting utility as their larger counterparts. Whether the mission calls for structural firefighting, rescue support, or wildland response, Tactical Pumpers™ rise to the challenge with resilience and capability.
A defining feature of the Tactical Pumper™ line is its unrivaled agility. Built on a lightweight yet rugged chassis, it provides exceptional off-road and on-road handling, making tight turns and rapid repositioning easy—even in crowded neighborhoods or confined industrial areas. This level of maneuverability dramatically reduces response times and enables teams to access areas previously unreachable by full-size rigs.
But performance is never sacrificed for size. Equipped with advanced Darley pumps, these units support high GPM output, multiple discharges, and fully customizable layouts for hosebeds, tool storage, foam systems, and more. The integration of top-tier components ensures that responders are always ready with the right tools in hand—at the right time. In fact, many departments find that Tactical Pumpers™ outperform traditional engines in terms of deployment speed, crew coordination, and versatility across different mission types.
With a more compact footprint comes a reduction in lifecycle costs—lower fuel consumption, simplified maintenance, and reduced driver training requirements. Yet despite the economic efficiency, there’s no compromise on safety or quality. Every unit is built to exceed the rigorous demands of NFPA standards and Darley’s own strict internal quality controls, guaranteeing a durable investment with long-term performance.
Most importantly, Darley offers tailored solutions. Each Tactical Pumper™ can be customized to the operational profile of the agency—from compartment layout to pump configurations to lighting and communications packages. This flexibility ensures departments don’t just get a vehicle—they get a mission-ready solution that enhances their effectiveness from day one.
Darley’s Tactical Pumpers™ enhance the agility and operational effectiveness of first responders.

Light Tactical Pumper™
Multi-Purpose Response Unit on the Ford F-550 Platform
Built on the robust Ford F-550 chassis, the Darley Light Tactical Pumper is a highly adaptable emergency response vehicle designed for multi-role use. Outfitted with the Max-Super Single tire and wheel package and equipped with a mobile Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS), this unit delivers superior traction, stability, and pump performance in virtually any terrain or weather condition. Its compact footprint and full firefighting capabilities make it an ideal initial attack vehicle for car accidents, brush fires, grass fires, and squad-level responses.
Engineered for Tactical Versatility
The vehicle features the proven Darley/Odin Mongoose CAFS pump housed within a corrosion-resistant PolyPak+ body manufactured by Darley/PolyBilt. This design includes pump-and-roll capability and an integrated LED warning light system, ensuring the vehicle is mission-ready for rapid deployment in both urban and off-road environments.
Ample compartment space is provided to accommodate essential rescue and firefighting equipment, allowing the unit to effectively serve in challenging settings such as:
Hard-to-reach residences
Crowded public events
Highways and transportation corridors
Agricultural and rural landscapes
Off-road parks and recreational trails
Innovative Body Design for Functional Storage
One of the unique features of the PolyPak+ body is its front transverse storage area, seamlessly integrated into the tank’s body structure. This compartment provides dedicated, side-accessible space for long-handled tools and backboards, enhancing equipment organization and accessibility without sacrificing compartment volume.
The vehicle can also be configured with the Gas Mongoose pump, should a gas-powered chassis be preferred. Both configurations support a 400-gallon water tank and a 25-gallon foam cell, providing substantial firefighting capacity in a lightweight, nimble package.
Pump System and Booster Reel Integration
The Mongoose pump panel is safely housed behind a durable Amdor roll-up door, protecting the controls while allowing easy access for operators. Standard discharges mirror the specifications found in Mongoose pump models and are integrated with the CAFS system at the mix point to supply the 100–150’ booster reel, which is located in the right rear compartment and deploys directly from the back for efficient hose deployment.
Remote-Controlled Front Turret System
On the front bumper, the vehicle is equipped with a joystick-controlled, remote-operated Elkhart Brush Hawk turret. This system allows operators to engage fires from within the cab with precision targeting. Additionally, dual front spray nozzles—independently or simultaneously controlled—offer adjustable flow rates and spray patterns, enabling quick knockdown of ground-level threats during wildland or roadside incidents.
