Description
A Hale Anode, 1-1/4″ is a sacrificial anode used in fire pumps and other equipment to prevent corrosion. It is typically made of zinc or magnesium, which are more reactive than the metals used in the pump components. As a result, the anode corrodes preferentially, sacrificing itself to protect the other metal components from corrosion. This is similar to how a zinc anode is used in a water heater to protect the tank from rust.
