Description
The Hale PM Adjusting Nut is a part of the Hale Pressure Maintaining (PM) control valve system. This system is used to regulate the discharge pressure of Hale fire pumps. The adjusting nut allows you to adjust the tension on the spring in the PM control valve, which in turn affects the discharge pressure of the pump.
The PM control valve is a pressure relief valve that helps to protect the pump from damage by limiting the discharge pressure. The adjusting nut is located on the top of the PM control valve. It is a hexagonal nut that can be turned with a wrench. Turning the nut clockwise increases the tension on the spring, which increases the discharge pressure. Turning the nut counterclockwise decreases the tension on the spring, which decreases the discharge pressure.
