Description
A Receiver/Dryer SGM is a component of an automotive air conditioning system that performs two important functions:
- Receiving and storing liquid refrigerant: The receiver/drier is located in the high-pressure side of the A/C system, downstream of the condenser.
- Removing moisture from the refrigerant:Â The receiver/drier contains a desiccant material that absorbs moisture from the refrigerant. This is important because moisture can cause corrosion and damage to the A/C system components.
The SGM designation in Receiver/Dryer SGM stands for “standard groove meter.”
