A Trident Manual AirPrime 3 Barrel – Hale Mount is a type of fire pump primer that uses compressed air to prime the pump. It is a manually operated primer, meaning that the operator must press a switch to activate it. The “H” mount refers to the type of mount that is used to attach the primer to the pump. Trident Air Primers are designed to be used on fire pumps rated 1250 GPM [4700 LPM] and more. They require a minimum air compressor size of 13.2 CFM [0.374 Cubic Meters per Minute].
To prime a fire pump using a Trident Air Primer, follow these steps:
- Ensure that the air compressor is turned on and that the air supply hose is connected to the primer.
- Press the switch on the primer to the “Manual Prime” position.
- Hold the switch in the “Manual Prime” position until the pump is primed.
- Once the pump is primed, release the switch and the primer will automatically shut off.
